Attractive tetradrachm of Heliokles I




Baktrian Kingdom. Heliokles I. Circa 145-130 BC. Silver tetradrachm (16.21 gm). Diademed and draped bust of Heliokles I right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΗΛΙΟΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΔΙΚΑΙΟΥ, Zeus standing half-left, wearing himation, holding winged thunderbolt in right hand, lotus-tipped scepter in left, monogram in left field. Bopearachchi 1G. Of fine late Hellenistic style. Minor surface porosity and flan flaw in reverse exergue. Good very fine.
